Who Killed Adeline

Hello once again! Well, this is a topic that is quite interesting, so I'll post about it.
This question is very general and you might think it is kind of irrelevant. Adeline killed herself! That is what most of you will say. But, I beg to differ.
Who refused to give that one mark to her? The teacher. We can't say the teacher killed her, as she was just doing her duty of being fair. However, you might say, she should've pressed on, and Adeline would not have commited suicide. She probably did not want to invade Adeline's privacy. Then again, teachers should go beyond their call of duty, but the fact that the teacher actually bothered to ask Adeline if she needed help was already beyond her call of duty.
To link it from there, I'll ask you another question. Why would she want another mark? WHO was it for? Well, it's very simple. Her parents! If her parents' hadn't given her so much pressure she would not be like that! So now, you might think: Adeline's parents killed her.
Well, I think not. I think what the parents' of Adeline drove into her was the killer! It is STRESS!
Therefore, my conlcusion is that stress is bad if you take too much of it.

My Chinese New Year

Hello guys,
How's Chinese New Year? Good? Bad? Tiring? Feeling rich ? :)
Haha, anyways I enjoyed mine a lot, although it was very tiring. On Monday, we went to my grandfather's house. (Father's side) We ate lunch there too. Unfortunately, my auntie was sick. Sighs. She was having a bad flu. My cousins says its because she stayed up late putting money into the red packets! After that, we went to my grand uncle's house. My uncle and auntie was there too! Also, they gave birth to a boy named Mark!
Wow, he is extremely intelligent. His only one and 2 months old, and he can recognise what's an elephant, fruits, vegetables, both in english and in chinese! He seems to like fishes a lot! He keeps turning picture books until he finds a fish!
After that, we went home to take a break. After about 5 minutes, we went to my other grandfather's house. There was a lot to eat there! My grandmother can cook really well! After that we all got tired, and went home. I fell asleep almsot immediately, and forgot to eat dinner!
Well, that's my new year? How about yours?

Stress

Hi again!
When writing the previous blog post, this question came into my mind. Stress. I think education in Singapore is a little too stressful, in a students point of view. But, don't take this as an offensive statement, it has good points too!
Without stress, hardly anyone would actually work hard to get good results, but on the other hand, stress may make people depressed. Being too stressed is never good. Some people like Adeline might even attempt suicide.
To prevent this from happening, I think parent's should not give their childs to much stress and ask them to study the whole they. They should bring the children to take a break, go out and cycle for awhile or something like that.
With less stress, students then can do well in examinations too. Also, examinations are not EVERYTHING. They are just tests used to gauge your knowledge for something. Thus, we shouldn't be overstressed by them. Of course, studying is still necessary. Examinations are also "used" to make students work hard, so they would at least revise their work. Thus, we must study, but do not over study. When people overwork or over study, during the examinations, their mind could sometimes go blank. Believe me, that has happened to me before, but luckily, it was just a mock test.
To sum up, I would say that life does not last forever. Enjoy it, but make use of it well. If everydays all about fun, fun will not be fun, fun will be normal, so make use of it and learn somethings too, but don't get too stressed. LIVE LIFE!

Adeline Ng Ai Choo

Hi once again!
I have read the short story Adeline Ng Ai Choo, from the book written by Catherine Lim. What do you think about it?
My views? Well, I think it's quite touching, but a little too dramatic. I mean, how stressed can you be by your parents, to the extent you would commit suicide? Well, after reading an article my Language Arts teacher gave out, I realise that it was quite true. Singapore has no natural resources, oil, water, rice or anything to sell, we only have one thing, MANPOWER. Thus, education is very important.
I said that education is NOT studying, on the previous post, and I want to emphasise on that. If the father knew this, would Adeline commit suicide? If Adeline knew that and would spend some time to relax or maybe read a book to have a break from studying, would she be stressed out? Definitely not.
One of the main characters in the story is also about the teacher. She thinks she has not done anything wrong and she was just doing her job, but I think not. She could tell that Adeline was going through depression, but when Adeline declined her offer of talking to her, she did not do anything.
You may say that maybe she thinks Adeline didn't want to tell anyone, and wanted to have privacy. Yes, it's true, but she could have at least called her parents, or do something to find out what was happening to her, but she didn't.
The sum up, I think that the teacher could have done more, to prevent Adeline from suiciding.

What is Education?

Hello! My Language Arts teacher asked the whole class to think about this question a few days ago, so I decided to use it, as it is definitely a topic worth talking about. I have changed the template too, as I couldn't figure out how to add the "comment" option.
Anyways, this is how I feel about education. I think that most people, especially parents, think that education is all about studying, studying and studying. I definitely NOT agree with that. I think educaation is about learning, no matter what types of things it is. For example, you can learn some vocabulary while reading a book, and in my opinion, that's counted as education. Teaching someone good values, like responsibility, respect, integrity and so forth is also counted as education, and we can't "study" them too.
My main point is that education can take place anywhere, anytime. For example, going on feild trips. Most people think they are enjoyable and they like to go on one. That is also counted as education. The summaries, I'll just use one statement, which I think is extremely important.

Studying IS NOT equals to education, and we should not be too stressed out just to study.
