Ways to recycle

Okay, hi once more. This is related to the previous post. Ways to recycle.
Actually, I think that recycle already has the meaning of "reuse" inside. So let me say it in this way. Ways to Save The Earth
1. Take a shower instead of a bath.
-It is quite obvious. If you take a bath, you will be wasting a lot more water. Of course, hygiene is important, but I think that you should take a quick rinse instead of taking a long bath after sports and games for example. I only bathe once a day, and the rest of the time, I just rinse myself.
2. Use both sides of the paper.
-This is very important. I see many people just tearing away foolscap paper that is only half full like theres no tommorow. Well, there is, so save paper. You see, it might seem like it is useless, but if you just use simple mathematics, you can tell how big the difference is. Lets say throughout the year, you use about 50 pieces of fullscap by using both sides. If you use 1 side, it is 50 more! 50, times another 30 people in our class, and you get 1500! Then, you take 1500 and you times the number of classes again, and so forth! Imagine how much paper you are saving!
3. Turn off the tap when brushing your teeth.
-This is a very basic way and everyone of you should know about this, thus I will not further elaborate.
4. Use the fan instead of the air-con.
-You may say Singapore is a very hot country. Yes, I agree, but have you ever slept with the window open? Do you know how breezy and cooling it is? Even to the extent that you get cold!
I think using the air-con is unnesessary. If you use the air-con, global warming will be even more serious. The more serious it is, the hotter it will get, so please, think about it!
5. Turn off light and fans when leaving the room.
-Okay, this is one of the most obvious way, everyone should practice it. However, I was shocked to see one of the classrooms in my school, with the lights and fan turned on. The door was closed furthermore! I could not even go in to turn the fans and lights off! It is disappointing to see people nowadays being so "mindful". I really do hope you guys will do you part in recycling and saving the earth!

Be happy, live life!

Reduce, Reuse or Recycle?

Hi everyone! It's been a long time since I've blogged. I apologise for that as I had some technical difficulties. Anyways, I have a question burning in my head. We have discussed this in class, but I really have the urge to talk about this.
Reduce, Reuse or Recycle. Well, the answer is all 3. Defintely. However, what I want you all to think about and comment on is which one is the most IMPORTANT?
Okay, I'll go straight to the point. I think recycling is the most important. Why? Recycling means to treat or process (used or waste materials) so as to make suitable for reuse. Yes, recycling needs to cooperate with "reuse" to have good results. If so, why do I think it is the most important? Okay. If recycling means to treat or process, than if you just say "reuse", it is typically impossible because you do not even have the material treated or procitemsessed to make it suitable for reuse.
So, reuse is crossed out of the list. Many people think "reduce" is the most important. I beg to differ. They usually come out with the same reason. "If you reduce on the use of something, you do not even have to recycle it." Yes, I agree with that statement, but to think about it, if you reduce, you don't buy items from a shop, it WILL be still there right?
That is my main point. You can reduce, but the same amount of this item will be produced still.
Therefore, I think that recycling is the most important because no matter how many items you have, you can recycle it and resources(which are limited) will not be wasted.

Whom do I learn for?

Whom do I learn for?
This question is quite hard to answer, not because I don't know, but I think it's quite hard to answer. I learn for to many things.
I learn for myself. That is the main point. I learn for myself, so I can have a good life later on. I know lot's of you will say this too, if your teacher asks you this question. However, I think that some people do not even know whom they learn for. The just study for the sake of studying. Once, during the examination period, I asked my friend how his revision was.
This was what he said, "Aya, my mother force me to do so many assesments and revise, I very sian la!" -I'm sorry for the broken english but this was exactly what he said.
There you have it. They don't know why they study, but they study because they are forced to. I do hope when they get to Sec 1 or Sec 2, they will understand.
Actually, I do study for my parents, but not in that way. I study hard for myself, but also for them, as the results I get shows how well they have brought me up.
I will surmarise with just a few statements. I study for myself, my future, but I do study for my parents, but in a pi-chart, this is how I'll divide it.
Parents and students(Competetive nature of humans) - 5% EACH
Myself - 90%

That's all for today! Bye!
Be Happy!

Why do I learn? Whom do I learn for?

Well, it is a question which is simple, easy to understand, yet hard to understand.
Oh, I forgot. Hi! It's been a long time since I've blogged. I feel that this is quite an interesting topic, so I'll be posting on it!
Why do I learn? Well, it's simple. I learn for knowledge. I learn because I want to live my life well, and spend the time I have well. Also, I learn for my future, to be able to get a good job, and enjoy myself with the hard earned money I get. Learning as I've said before, comes in different ways. You can learn about things my observing them, do experiments, and also listening to a teacher teach. Doing research or reading a book is part of learning too. In fact, I find some ways of learning like observing things and doing experiments more interesting, and thus is able to learn better. I have mentioned that I learn to gain knowledge. Knowledge, is not only about Mathematics, Science, Chinese and so forth. This knowledge, to me, includes having EQ, knowing how to socialise, knowing how to speak well and even knowing basic things like why hygiene is important. This knowledge is not always the subjects we learn in class. This knowledge is what we can apply in life, and what we can do to make a difference like to save electicity.
I think this blog post might be too long, and thus will be posting on another blog post.
