What do you hate most?

Well, this is a fun question to answer, what do you hate most?
Let us exclude all obscene stuff including violence and stuff like torture...and disgusting food. Can you say 3 things you hate most in your daily life? If you like everything, you can say what you like the least!
Well, this is what I think:
Number 3...
I hate waking up in the morning, and be forced to eat breakfast when I have no appetite.
Ehh...Don't get mistaken, I'm not being forced fed :D
I just 'force' myself to eat, so that I would have some energy in school. Also, I would not want to waste food. To be more detailed, I hate waking up in the morning, eat egg (with the yolk) and drinking water. Have you ever eaten egg yolk and drank a bottle of water? It's extremely disgusting...Just imagine diluted egg yolk! Yuck!

Number 2...
I hate waking up at 5.50am.
I know that a lot of you have to wake up earlier than that. And you'll be wondering why all my reasons all have to do with sleep. Well, i guess thats me! Even if you do wake up earlier than me, I sure do hate that feeling of climbing out of my bed. It's funny how I like waking up in the night, so that I can "feel" myself in bed. It really feels nice :)
You know, I dislike waking up so much, I sometimes have nightmares about waking up! My record so far, was sleeping at 12, and dreamt that I woke up and needed to go to school. Then, I wake up when I 'switch on the light' in my dreams. After that, I went to sleep at about 2. What happened next is really incredible! I woke up at 3, and started to go to the bathroom. That was no dream! Then, my mother suddenly came out of her room and asked me why I woke up so early. The conversation was something like that:

Mother: What are you doing? It's not time for school yet...
Me: Preparing for school, its ALREADY 3 AM!
Mother : What? Its ONLY 3am.
Me: But I'm going to be late!

Funny right?I knew the time, and yet I thought it was time for school. Maybe school gives me nightmare too....Hahha :)

Okay, number 1:
I hate....
Sleeping extremely late, and when I close my eyes, it's time for school. People say that is the best type of sleep, but I beg to differ. Even if it's the best...I do hate it! Talking about it, it's getting late already :X
Time to go :)

What will life be like....?

Hello once again! :)
Previously, I have written a blog post about Jem, stating that I wanted to make friends with him as I was curious to see what it was like in the past. Thus, out of enjoyment, I decided to make this blog post! :D
Well, what will life be like without computers?
I think computers are extremely important nowadays. With no computers, I wouldn't even be blogging now! Also, people nowadays are unable to make good use of the computers, and gets themselves addicted to games. Without computers, I am quite sure there would be less cases about people having severe depression. And I, also think that most of my students, and myself would perform better in school. With computers, you can do anything, and everything. Even if you are not addicted, and is just doing some science project, you can go on the internet and search. As you search, curiosity makes you want to read more. Well, I think I should stop thinking about the negative points of computers. With computers, projects are also easily done. The projects that are done are much more informative than the projects without using computers. Well, I am not making an assumption here, but hey, without computers, your only source which you can get information from without the help of others, are books. It's quite hard to find the right book. Thus, without computers, it would be a little more inconvenient to us, and there will be more depression cases. Haha joking! :D
Thus, I think that life would be a little more convenient with computers, but using the computer wrongly might have a bad effect on someone.

Cheers,
Yuding (:

My Opinions on Independent Studies (IS)

Hello again,
As i wrote on how people chose their Sabbatical based on Ace, I thought of this.
Well, the point is, now that there is a limited time we are supposed to do our ace, and the limit we are allowed to do per term, we will not be able to freely manage our time. For term 1, the holidays have just ended, and it takes quite awhile to get back to your working mode. When you do get back to your working mode, its time for all the tests! And after the tests, your only left with like 1 week to rush and spam your ace, worried that you are unable to get the full 5 marks. Thus, you turn to the Sabbaticals!
Also, with this new system, there's no freedom at all! Usually, I would be able to do all my ace during the June holidays. However, for term 1 and 2, I do not have adequate time! I am not able to do in the December hols too, as I have no idea on what type of ace should be submitted.
Well, that's how I feel about IS. I do hope this system changes. I don't think a lot of people will be making it into CSE this year...especially without the help of ace!
Sighs, that's all I have to say...

I'll try to stay happy and positive!
Good night!

Sabbatical

Hello once again!
This time, I'll be sharing on what I feel about Sabbatical.
I feel that sabbatical is something that allows us to learn, without getting tired/bored. This is because Sabbatical is always about something interesting like Scrabble, badminton and so forth. You should be interested in that subject as you are allowed to choose it. Thus, you will want to find out more, and would enjoy the lessons. As you enjoy the lessons, you are able to absorb more quickly.
However, in Hwa Chong, due to some Sabbatical giving ace, well, people usually go for the one which gives them the ace which they need, and not the one they are interested in. During the sabbatical, they don't pay attention, which affects the people who are interested in the subject. I feel that this is very inconsiderate of them! Today was the first day of Sabbatical. As our Sabbatical teacher told us that there would be no ace, everyone groaned. It seems like everyone only wanted the ace!
I am not suggesting Hwa Chong to not give ace during Sabbaticals, but I am requesting my fellow friends to be true to what they like. Why? Well that's because if you don't listen, you don't learn. If you don't learn, you are wasting your time. With the time your wasting just for 1 miserable ace point, you can learn much more! For example, the total sabbatical hours for this week is about 15 hours. With this 15 hours, I'm sure you can do a much better 2 or 3 point ace project!
Well, my post ends here!
I hope I would learn a lot from my Sabbatical, enLIGHTement!

Be happy, live life!

HomeLearning Tasks

Who would you want to be friends with in the novel? Explain. (Intrapersonal)

I would like to be friends with Jem in the novel. Why? Well, that's because he is around the same age as me. Also, I would like to experience how it is like being a child in a world without computers, televisions and other modern day items. Furthermore, I would like to make friends with a someone that is courageous. Not just moral courage, like how Atticus was, but also the 'fake' type of courage. I feel that daring is the right word to use for that. I mean, why not? Someone that is daring is fun to play with! You can go explore places and things like that! Also, I would like to see how he feels about discrimination and prejudice, as I, a Chinese, would be known as a "Coloured Person". However, I would not only make friends with Jem just because he is fun to be around with. As we all know, Jem is a teenager, like I am. Thus, we will be maturing. I would also want to see how a boy from a place full of discrimination would be like when he matures. Furthermore, he is from a time where there is not much technology, and I would see how he differs from me.

Conduct an interview with a friend (not from HCI) or family member. Find out from their point of view on prejudice and discrimination. Either record the interview or write out the interview transcript. (Interpersonal)

For this task, I have invited my younger cousin to be in this interview.
What i asked will be in bold, while my sister's response will be in italic.
Alright, so let's begin :)

1.What do you think being "Prejudice" means?
Being Prejudice is the act of Discriminating someone.

2.Alright....So what do you think discrimination is?
I think that discrimination is the act of treating someone unfairly.

3.Okay, next question. What are stereotypes?
Well, I think that stereotypes are what people think of something or someone, based on his look, skin colour, race and religion.

4.Have you discriminated/stereotyped/be prejudice to anyone before? If so, how?
Yes, i have stereotyped someone before. When i was very young, I used to think that all Filipinos are maids! However, I do know my mistake now.

5.Do you think discrimination and prejudice is common in Singapore?
Yes, I do. Now and then, I hear a lot of jokes about peoples skin colour, race and religion. I think that prejudice can be seen everywhere, even in the most common places. Usually, if I go into a bus, I don't see people of the same race sitting together. However, I think that even if Singaporeans are prejudice, the furthest they would go is telling jokes about peoples race and religion.

6.What do you think you can do to stop prejudice in Singapore?
For a start, I think I should stop my friends from telling racist jokes, as they are the most common forms of prejudice in Singapore.

7.Okay, last question. If you were to arrange the 3 things, stereotype, discrimination and prejudice according to their seriousness, what will they be?
Stereotype, discrimination and Prejudice

Okay, thank you!
Here, the interview ends.

As you can see, my cousin made the same mistake as I did. We both had the same misconception on discrimination and Prejudice. Firstly, Stereotyping someone leads to prejudice. Then, the prejudice would lead to discrimination. Secondly, prejudice is more of having a preconceived preference or idea.

Well that's all i have to say!
Be happy!

Home Learning Work

This is my learning style.
Looks like the scores for my Logical, Kinesthetic AND Intrapersonal MIs are ranked number 1, as they are tied. Well, I'm quite surprised to see the my Intrapersonal score is high. I never thought i new myself well!
I did not get what it meant by Intrapersonal intelligence though. What I'm trying to say is that, how can knowing more about yourself help you learn more? I shall attempt to answer these questions later. To expected myself to not be Linguistic. To be honest, I dislike reading books, and writing compositions. Well, i kind of expected myself to be Logical. I did some research on multiple intelligence, and I found this site that explained everything. (SHORT AND SWEET!)
http://www.ldpride.net/learningstyles.MI.htm#
Multiple%20Intelligences%20Explained

When i checked what being Logical meant, I realised that I, indeed, wanted to be an engineer! Also, i did check on Intrapersonal, and found out that by knowing yourself better, it meant that you will understand your strengths, weaknesses, the best way of learning and so forth! Well, that's what i have to say about my Multiple Intelligence.

What is yours?
Feel free to post your scores in the comment box :D

Home Learning

Hello again!
Well, the world is changing. You can no longer live without computers. Last time, if there were emergencies, worksheets would be sent to the students houses by mail. (I heard this from my sisters) However, nowadays, it is MUCH more convenient with computers. All the teacher needs to do is to post some information up on the his/her website, and the student just needs to go to this website and do the worksheets/read up notes.
Well, I do agree that it is convenient, but i really dislike Home Learning a lot. Why? That's because I find that there is low efficiency in Home Learning. Even still, having low efficiency is compared to what is being taught with a teacher. If you compare home learning to the sending of worksheets, it is definitely 100 times more efficient!
Furthermore, looking at the computer too much will hurt your eyes.
Other than that, some people will not be able to exercise self-control, and would be playing games instead of home learning. That is why I dislike home learning.
However, I do like 1 point about home learning - Waking up later!
Well, as I live near Tannah Merah, I have to wake up quite early. However, with Home Learning, I can sleep for a longer period of time!

Be happy!

My Grade 8 violin exams

Hello! It's a long time since I've blogged.
A week ago, I had my Grade 8 violin exams! Well, how did it go?
It was horrible!
I guess I did not prepare well enough. It was also partly because I was nervous. When i went into the examination room, I was shivering with fear. Furthermore, the air-condition was very cold. That made me shiver more. The examiner was a man with white hair and a beard. Although the examiner was very friendly, I still could not calm done.
When I was playing my exam pieces, I played A LOT of wrong notes. And worst still, I tuned my violin wrongly! I never really made those mistakes when i was rehearsing. To look on the bright side, my violin exams are over, and I can finally relax for a bit, and concentrate on studying for my tests! :D
I really do wish I would pass. However, if I fail, I wouldn't really be disappointed. Why? That's because I find that taking my grade 8 exams is just a goal that would push myself forward. If i fail, at least i know I have improved.
Well, that's all about my Grade 8 exams.
Wish me good luck! :D

Be happy,
Yuding
